It is in the nature of all things to move through life with a mission in mind, to fulfill purpose.
The eagle takes flight in search of the elusive rodent. The wolf sniffs the hoof shaped impression where a buck once stood. The child sharpens her spear in preparation for the hunt at first light. The gladiator breathes the thick air of battle before heavy iron gates grant passage to triumph or peril.
The path to success is not a path at all; it is an arena. | Can You Still Emerge Victorious?
With A Beaten Mind & Broken Body, Can You Still Emerge Victorious? “Broken Daggers”
Our passion to win must burn hotter than the sands beneath our feet.
Any mission, any goal comes with the risk of utter defeat.
But it is at the moment we are about to lose our footing, when our bodies are weak and minds worn, we must fight the hardest. Or risk losing everything.
Eventually, we reach a critical point in life. The moment a lightning bolt strikes across our hearts and ignites our passion. When the thunder roars and lightning cracks, we see the heavy iron gates to the arena have opened.
Only by daring to step forward, does our mission to succeed begin.
There is a myriad of paths life can send us down, by moving the compass needle in our hearts.
Whether we know it or not, our choices guide us to our own battle.
There are countless ways we can set goals for ourselves.
There are those who set out to start a business from the ground up. Some already within a company looking towards the next promotion burning with ambition. The college student who refuses to lose sight of his dream job however far away it may be. Will the accountant finally see the coveted C.P.A. after her title? Will the Army recruit make it to the ceremonial flags raised at the end of Basic Combat Training? Will the medical student see his first patient? Will the recovering addict sew the wounds they thought could be healed by a substance and conquer their mind?
We are all gladiators in our own arena. To endure the endless battle, the only helpful substance is raw strength of spirit and the iron will to never yield.
The hard truth is that we are all too human to endure endless struggle.
Fortunately, the body will follow what the mind believes possible, and perseverance is its teacher.
While we still stand upon the hot sands, enduring battle after battle, foe after foe, weary and scarred we will falter.. | Can You Still Emerge Victorious?
Even when we know our purpose, what drives us to achieve our mission, the battle can be overwhelming.
We will all get to the point where our legs begin to give, our backs hunched, sweat burning our eyes and the sword seemingly too heavy to swing again.
It begins with fatigue, and then we lose our footing, lose our way.
Our shield shatters, spear snaps and the sword falls from our grasp.
It is at the edge of our will we reach for the dagger on our belt. | Can You Still Emerge Victorious?
In our last desperate attempt to land a winning blow, we see the blade snap and the dagger is broken.
Everything fought for becomes distant as a swift unseen blow knocks us to the war stained sands we once proudly stood upon.
When our breath is heavy and our spirits seemingly evaporate, we must remember the words of the former champions.
Greatness is not handed down; it is forged in the hands of those willing to fight for it.
Even though we may find ourselves on the edge of defeat, a field of splintered shields and broken daggers, the fight is not over.
For as long as our lungs draw breath victory is always within reach.
Before we give in, before we let go of all we have trained for, remember the words etched on a warrior’s heart.
If I feel pain, I am alive. If I am alive, I can fight. If I can fight, I can win.
